THE DEN PROJECT
2019
Undergraduate Work: Image
This installation toured the university campus and city-centre Leeds. Located inside den-like structure, Ella would use polling cards to ask participants to make a series of binary choices which she would use to make them the perfect cup of tea. She would then leave the den, allowing the participant to take part in a series of craft activities. the results of which were left for the following visitors. The piece was about the division that Brexit has caused in a city where voting statistics mimic that of the national average. It asked participants to see beyond the binary and feel empathy for those they voted against.

PURPLE
2018
Undergraduate Work: Image
This installation had solo audience members walk down a long corridor filled with balloons and slowly changing, mesmeric lighting and projection. The audience member wore headphones, listening to a soundscape that built from a meditation to disco music. Performers danced on the other side of the projection and the audience member was asked to dance along with them. This piece was created to explore the idea of a safe space and of letting go of inhibitions.
